Our initial thoughts when we saw the property were we need to create something special close to the house that works as a conduit from inside to out but also start the look and feel that will set the tone for the rest of the property.

Perched on the clifftop behind Winki Pop along the Surf Coast our clients wanted a new swimming pool installation and native gardens to suit the rugged Surf Coast coastline.

We first got to work on the pool location. We chose to mass excavate to create a spillover edge on the pool and finished with a modern charcoal tile. Given the sleek look of the new home, we went with a minimalist approach for the aesthetic. We used a white rock cladding, off-form concrete and a Chinese bluestone to match the house tiling.

The gardens were all natives; and a lot of the plant choices indigenous to the area.
